Should children be required to attend school past the age of sixteen?

Children and Teens should attend school past the age of sixteen. Graduating from high school and receiving a high school diploma is very important in one's life. A high school diploma just makes it one step closer to better paying jobs and it looks great on a resume.

A lot of young teens feel self-concious or too stressed to finish high school and end up dropping out. Sixteen is the age where you can begin working, the age when you are considered a young adult. A lot of teens get a minimum wage job and think that since they have a job they are grown, they end up dropping out of school because they are stressed from working and trying to keep up with school, and they don't want to lose that money, so they feel that school is less important. Then they try to live on their own and think it is all fine and dandy but soon realize that they messed up and want to finish school, but now it is too late for that and now they must obtain a GED which is actually harder to achieve than a high school diploma.

So just because you are finally sixteen, think about your future. Do you want to go to college? Do you want a career that makes you happy, or do you want a minimum wage job with no benefits?

I believe children should be required to attend school past the age of sixteen because that would higher the graduation rates and lower the crime rates. It will also lower the percent of homeless people.

Education is everything, now days you need education for just about everything. Along with education comes benefits, careers, new opportunities and successful young adults. Sixteen is the age where your life begins, it is your choice what you want to do, so think about it, what do you want to do? Make the right decision!
